This 48-port Gigabit Ethernet switching module provides 48 switched, Gigabit Ethernet ports. The 48 ports support hot-swappable Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) 1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-LX/LH, and 1000BASE-ZX optical transceivers. The WS-X6748-SFP module has dual fabric channels interface and requires the Supervisor Engine 720. Cisco WS-X6748-SFP Catalyst 6500 series mixed media/fiber-based gigabit Ethernet interface modules are used in distribution and core layers, data-center and Metro Ethernet applications. This module occupies one slot in the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series chassis. (Cisco Chassis 6503 not supported). Other key specifications include:
